Gatsby Style Wedding Invitations

Ruth and Phil are a beautiful couple and wonderful clients to work with. I met both of them at The Scottish Wedding Show at the SECC in Glasgow, however I had met Ruth a few weeks earlier when she started coming to my yoga classes (my other love). I absoultely loved designing her Gatsby Style Wedding Invitations.
It was such a pleasure working with them and I just adore her photographs.
Ruth + Phil’s Wedding Day
Woke up to a perfect sunny day!
My bridesmaids and I headed to wonderland for our hair appointments full of excitement, where the lovely staff at Wonderland looked after us and made us feel all pampered! We then headed back to my flat for make up, Sophie Crompton did a wonderful job and we were all delighted with the results.  I had the best morning getting ready with my bridesmaids and my mum sipping on prosecco and getting ready for the main event!
We then headed to Mansfield Traquair for 2pm, we arrived slightly late, whoops and after a few photos outside we got ready to walk down the aisle! One of my favourite moments of the day was as the doors to Mansfield Traquair were opened and I could see all of the beautiful flowers and lights inside the most stunning venue ever! Andreas Johnson’s “Glorious” played as we made our way down the aisle, it was perfect and I loved seeing all of my friends and family as I walked towards Phil.
We had a perfect service conducted by Duncan Robertson, of Humanist Fellowship of Scotland – it was very personal and lighthearted which was just what we wanted.
After the service we had a fabulous drinks reception, before heading back into the venue for a wonderful meal and hilarious speeches! The staff at Mansfield were fantastic and we couldnt have asked for anything more, everything went perfectly.
After the meal our evening guests began to arrive from 7.30pm, we cut our cake about 7.45 and then our band – The Jammy Devils played for us their version of “Ready for your love” by Gorgon City!  After another few up tempo songs, our band then kicked off some Ceilidh dancing and the dance floor was packed! It was amazing to see everyone up and having fun.
The day flew in and before long it was time for Loch Lomond and the day came to an end! After 9 months of planning we couldn’t believe it was all over but we couldn’t have asked for a better day and it was brilliant to see all of our friends and family having such a wonderful time and being there to celebrate with us!
In terms of planning, I would say that I was quite relaxed and tried to stay open minded when looking for things, I knew I wanted soft pinks and greys in terms of colours and I tried to iincorporatethem throughout.
I looked on pinterest for ideas and made boards to pull ideas together. I saw lovely Gatsby style wedding invitations that I loved, by working with you we were able to come up with a gatsby style with a softer finish, they were perfect and tied in perfectly with the flowers and bridesmaid dresses.   I wanted simple clean lines, with soft details for summer time.

Ruth sent over these lovely Kind Words
Love Paper Crane were a pleasure to deal with and provided a very personal and professional service, they designed all of my wedding stationery from the invites to the place settings and table numbers, they did a brilliant job.

The whole process was great, a first meeting was held to discuss ideas and concepts before Love Paper Crane designed some different options taking all of our ideas on board.  We were then able to tailor the mock ups to design the finished article and produce the gorgeous stationery that went perfectly with our theme.

We couldn’t have asked for a better result and we received so many compliments on our invitations and stationery.  I couldn’t recommend Love Paper Crane highly enough!
